Traveling with children in Paje shouldn’t mean compromising on culinary quality or peace of mind. Situated on the grounds of Alaïa, Kaio is structurally designed to welcome families alongside our active travelers and couples. From our Italian-trained kitchen serving real-food children’s menus to a beach play area within direct line of sight, we ensure that family dining on a tropical island is effortless rather than an exercise in containment.
Family dining in a beachfront restaurant should be a highlight of a vacation. In practice, it often isn’t. Too frequently, the children’s menu is reduced to a few uninspired, heavy options, the atmosphere grows uncomfortably loud by mid-evening, and the proximity to the water becomes a source of stress rather than enjoyment.
At Kaio, we design our spaces and menus to serve multiple audiences simultaneously. We believe that children deserve the same culinary respect as adults, and parents deserve an environment that works with them, not against them. Three deliberate operational choices shape our family experience.
Kaio is a strictly alcohol-free restaurant, a consistent and conscious choice maintained across all of our sister properties since day one. A dining environment without a dominant bar scene behaves differently. Conversations remain at comfortable volumes, the room doesn’t shift into a loud lounge as the night goes on, and children’s normal sounds don’t compete with an escalating drinking culture. Parents who have struggled with evening meals at typical resort bars notice a peaceful, grounded difference within the first ten minutes of sitting down.
Operating beachfront venues for years taught us that the physical layout of a space dictates how relaxed a meal can be. Our ground floor opens seamlessly directly onto the beach. We maintain a clean, soft section of sand immediately outside the pavilion that functions as a natural play area. Because it sits in a clear line of sight from most lower tables, children can play freely while adults finish their meals at an unhurried pace.
Our kids’ menu was designed by the same Italian-trained culinary team that manages our main line. We do not offer dumbed-down, pre-frozen fast food. Instead, we serve smaller portions of real, high-quality food crafted from premium ingredients – including pizzas made from our 24-hour slow-fermented dough and pastas tossed in authentic imported Italian sauces. Children eat exceptionally well here because the food is fundamentally good food, simply sized for smaller appetites.
Breakfast at Kaio catches the Paje lagoon at its calmest and most unhurried. Younger children often love exploring the abundant breakfast buffet selections – picking out fresh island fruit, house pastries, and local yogurt – while older children can order directly from our à la carte list.

Our buffet selection rotates slightly with the daily harvest, ensuring only the finest seasonal ingredients reach the table. It is the perfect choice for guests who love to graze leisurely over multiple courses or for active families looking to satisfy everyone at once.
We keep multiple high chairs always on hand and readily available. Navigating our ground floor layout is entirely seamless, as the entrance and dining room sit on a single level with no internal steps, making it perfect for pushchairs and strollers. Feel free to park your stroller safely near our host stand.
While the proximity of the clean sand play area makes dining easier, the lagoon is close and the tide shifts rapidly. Parental supervision is always required on the beach, but our open-air physical layout keeps them in your line of sight.
Please flag any food allergies or dietary restrictions when booking your table. For severe sensitivities, including nuts, shellfish, dairy, or celiac-level gluten adjustments, advance notice allows our kitchen to implement isolated preparation measures to minimize any risk of cross-contamination.Island plans naturally shift and we completely understand. We do not charge cancellation or modification fees for standard table reservations. For larger groups of eight or more during peak tourist months, we may request a standard credit card hold that is fully released as long as you update us at least 24 hours in advance.
Our kitchen and service team never rush family tables. If your child needs a mid-meal break to stretch their legs on the sand, or if you require an intentional pause between courses, simply let your server know. We move at the rhythm of your family.
This level is the ideal choice for families traveling with babies, toddlers, and young children under the age of six. It features one seamless level throughout, offers zero stairs to navigate, handles strollers with ease, and sits directly on the sand with the beach play area right outside the dining perimeter. It is also the preferred option for multi-generational groups traveling with grandparents who value easy accessibility.
Our elevated terrace is often the preferred choice for families with older children, roughly ages seven and up, who can manage stairs comfortably. The panoramic perspective across the lagoon offers an engaging front-row seat to the local kitesurfing action, shields you from the midday sun, and keeps the coastal breeze entirely uninterrupted. Several families report that watching the colorful kites track across the water makes lunch on our upper level their children’s absolute favorite meal of the vacation.

A calm, unhurried time of day when the lagoon is as still as glass. Children love exploring the breakfast buffet selections, and the beach is perfectly cool for a quick stroll after eating, making it an excellent choice for families who want to enjoy the outdoors before the midday heat.
This is when the Paje kitesurfing scene is at its vibrant peak. Older children find the aerial acrobatics highly entertaining from an upper-floor vantage point. Our full menu runs continuously, offering a natural post-activity lunch stop for families spending their day on the water.
This is the most manageable slot for families with very young children. The dining room is fresh, open tables are plentiful, and your family dinner can easily wrap up well before bedtime. The ground floor during this hour, with the lanterns lighting up and the ocean breeze coming in, transitions into a slower, peaceful dinner service that remains perfectly calm.
